SAFARI - M EOOD CELEBRATES ITS 30-TH ANNIVERSARY
The company was established in 1990. It started as ET SAFARI-MX Plamen Genchev. Since 1994 also registered has been Safari-M EOOD.
It cultivates 25,000 decares in the villages of Borisovo, Ryahovo, Stambolovo, Kosharna and Malko Vranovo, Slivo Pole Municipality, Rousse District. The company is mainly engaged in grain production, where main crops sown are: 10,000 decares of wheat, 3,000 decares of sunflower, 6,000 decares of rapeseed, 3,000 decares of corn, with 1,700 decares irrigated, 700 decares drip irrigated and 1000 decares use irrigation machines, 1,000 decares of alfalfa, as well as essential oils crops: 2,000 decares of fennel and 300 decares of lavender.
Crops related to the development of to the farm of Safari-M EOOD are fennel and lavender. The areas cultivated are in a process of transition to organic production, from which in the newly built distillery essential oil of fennel and lavender is produced. Produced oils enjoy demand in France, Germany, Italy, USA, etc.
Safari-M EOOD works with German contractors who buy fennel seeds and use them to flavor teas. The company has a certificate for organic production, which provides opportunities for sales on the domestic and foreign markets.
The company has implemented a project under measure 4.2. "Investments in processing / marketing of agricultural products" under the Rural Development Program. With the support of this program, a distillery for the production of fennel oil, a workshop for the production of pellets and a workshop for cleaning seeds were built. The new site is located in the base of the company in the village of Ryahovo. Another 8-10 jobs will be created there.
Safari-M EOOD has solid experience in the implementation of projects under European programs and is among the first beneficiaries, working under SAPARD since 2003 and having purchased equipment. Later, two more projects under measure 121 of the RDP were implemented at a total value of about BGN 1.5 million.
Safari-M EOOD has 52 employees on a permanent employment contract. It currently has an extremely modern machine park for cultivation of agricultural land. The machinery is from the brands John Deere, Deutsz, Class Lection. Separately, the company also performs transport activities and owns gondola trucks. By them production is transported directly to traders and to the port of Varna. These vehicles are needed to transport huge quantities of preparations and seeds.
The company has an affinity for innovation and has focused on the so-called No-till technology that helps reduce the cost of feeding crops.
Plamen Genchev's wife Vanyusha Gencheva and his sons Valentin and Krassimir help in the management of Safari-M EOOD. The two young men successfully follow in their father's footsteps. Valentin graduated with a degree in business and management in Varna, and his brother Krassimir graduated in Plant Protection at Plovdiv Agricultural University.
The business activity of Plamen Genchev proves that one can develop a successful business in Bulgaria as well. Throughout his years of professional development, he has adhered to the motto "One has to experiment" and the results of his bold decisions are his beautiful fields and modern machinery fleet.
